About Shelley Wood Studio
Hi, I'm Shelley a Manchester-based artist specialising in hand-built clay pieces. My projects range from vessels and tiles to jewellery and more. Having graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Arts (Ceramic), I have a passion for making and sharing clay with others through workshops.
My work uses layering and a hands-on approach to experiment with texture, shape and form through drawing, surface marking, scraffito and lino pressing. Each piece is made up of various layers of clay, these layers represent peoples emotional journeys. I use elements of historical maps along with contemporary patterns, mapping the places you have been, the people you have met along the way - all making you who you we are today.
