How did Cottage-creations get started?

I have always been a creative person and have tried out many different crafts over the years. During lockdown, whilst out on a walk with my husband, daughter, and dog I came across some beautiful pieces of timber resting up against the side of a local barn which was being renovated and immediately asked the owner if I could take them to use for a project, and that is where Cottage-creations began.

A bit about where your lovely purchases are coming from

I am lucky enough to live at the foot of the Pennines, Last of the Summer Wine country, surrounded by beautiful hills and reservoirs. What better inspiration could I need for my creations. When I first began, my workspace was the kitchen table but now, much to my families delight I have claimed the smallest bedroom as my workshop. Each day I open the door and let my creative juices flow.

And what about the crafting talent behind these great products

Each step of the process is completed by hand. I begin by sourcing my timber, anything I can get my hands on (the older the better). I then saw, sand, prep and then paint each wooden cottage individually. The final stage is my favourite, the decorating! Every creation I make is bespoke, a complete one off.
