About Ear Candy
How did Ear Candy get started?
I’ve always crafted things, from cross-stitch to cushion covers to cake decorating (decorating only- did I mention I’m a terrible baker?) When my friend needed expensive medical treatment in the USA, I wanted to help raise money so I tried making earrings from polymer clay. After lots of success (and lots that went in the bin) I discovered that people really wanted to buy them and I was able to donate a nice amount of money to my friend. I enjoyed it so much that I have continued, even though my friend is now back in the UK and a good deal better. Local craft fairs however, are few and far between so I have decided to set up shop on the Internet. I hope you enjoy looking at my creations even if you don’t choose to buy any!
A bit about where your lovely purchases are coming from
I make my earrings on the dining room table- I don’t need much space as they are nice and small! I have various tools and cutters, though I try not to use decorative cutters as then it feels like I haven’t really created the design myself. My most used tools are my tiny Swiss Army knife, my jewellery pliers and my thin slicing razor. It all gets packed away in a cupboard when we have guests.
Anything else? This is our sellers chance to tell you a bit about themselves
I’ve reached middle-age begrudgingly but am still fortunate enough to be able to get out on the downs with the dog (a small, black, noisy schnauzer), go swimming, sing in a band and teach music part-time. My teenage daughters are my greatest critics and my husband is very patient about the lack of space on the dining room table.
