River Reeds
River Reeds was inspired by rivers, canals and inlets together with the tall grasses and reeds that sway after getting caught by the breeze.
I have used painted fabric, twine and vintage dress-making pattern paper together with the stems of dried grasses.
I have used fabric threads to convey a sense of movement, and the glimpses of water and sky through the reeds.
Every piece of art I make is unique and produced by hand, no machine embroidery here, often reflecting the seasons.

The painting is mounted in cream board, with reeds breaking over the border, within a white frame to suit any decor.
