About AJW Folio

Hi, I’m Andrea! Having worked for design and advertising agencies, I longed for a change of pace. I am happiest creating, using my hands, working with thread, clay and natural objects found on my walks. I am inspired by nature and the textures found in nature. I am lucky to have countryside walks where I live, and often visit my parents who live on the coast. I don't have a set style, as my initial inspiration will dictate the materials I use, and the way a piece is presented.

How did AJW Folio get started?

I started experimenting with textiles, clay and paint during lockdown. Having trained as a graphic designer I found these materials gave me much more freedom to express myself. I have had great fun learning different stitches and methods of creating art and everywhere I go I look for inspiration.

A bit about where your lovely purchases are coming from

My ‘studio’ is my dining table in my conservatory, named ‘the making table’ by my granddaughter! We often sit side by side ‘making’!

And what about the crafting talent behind these great products

My inspiration is mostly from nature, and I may have a strong idea of what I want to create, or just start fiddling with a piece of fabric or rust. This will determine what the finished piece looks like, as I don’t have a ‘set style’ I could go in any number of directions. I have taught myself embroidery, learnt how to use clay and paint fabric.
